🚨 Community Outreach Alert 🚨

Today, officers from the Berkeley Police Department Patrol Division, members of Command Staff, representatives from the Berkeley Fire Department, the Berkeley Betterment Committee, and members of the City Council came together to give back to the community by participating in a basketball tournament with students from Berkeley Elementary School.

Students enjoyed spending time with first responders and city leaders through friendly competition, positive conversations, and memorable moments as they close out the school year. Events like these continue to strengthen the bond between our community and those who proudly serve it.

We appreciate everyone who participated and helped make today such a success! 🏀🚨🚔🚒

🚨 Training Success 🚨

Congratulations to the recruits of the Lincoln University Law Enforcement Academy on achieving a 100% pass rate during their handgun and shotgun qualifications. Recruits completed two weeks of intensive fi****ms training at the Berkeley and Granite City firing ranges.

Throughout the training, recruits participated in night fire exercises, combat stress courses, and advanced weapon manipulation drills designed to build confidence, discipline, and readiness in high-pressure situations.

This marks Officer Young’s second class instructing with the LU Law Enforcement Academy, and we are proud to be a part of developing the next generation of law enforcement professionals.

We wish the recruits the best of luck as they prepare for their POST examination and graduation on May 30th. 👏🇺🇸

The professional men and women of the Berkeley Police Department would like to recognize and thank all of our brothers and sisters in blue, across this great nation, for their service, their sacrifice, and their commitment to pin on the badge, every single day, and walk out that door to protect and serve. This remains a courageous and honorable profession. Always remember, we ARE blessed, for we are the peacemakers.
And, for Berkeley's finest....you are appreciated more than you will ever know. You change lives and save lives. You also save each other. We are all one family. This world and this city is a better place because of you. Be safe in all that you do. Be humble in your proudest moment, and always lift others before you lift yourself.

🌙 Night Training Under Pressure 🚔

Last night, several students from the LU Law Enforcement Academy participated in nighttime fi****ms training, focusing on flashlight techniques and one-handed shooting skills.

Instructors Young and Ball incorporated police lights and sirens into the training environment to simulate real-world stress and help build recruits’ confidence and decision-making under pressure.

This hands-on training will be instrumental as the recruits prepare for their upcoming fi****ms qualification on Saturday and continue developing into future leaders in law enforcement.

We commend these recruits for their dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence.

Training Post 🚔

Tonight, recruits from the Lincoln University Law Enforcement Academy, hosted at Harris-Stowe State University, participated in fi****ms training at the Berkeley Police Department outdoor range. The training focused on precision shooting, proper stances, and effective techniques essential for officer safety and performance.

We are proud to have our very own fi****ms instructor, Officer Young, serving as part of the instructional team. This marks his second year working with the academy—a continued partnership made possible by Academy Director and Captain of the LU Police Department, Dr. Nikki Brown, who previously served as one of Officer Young’s instructors during his time at the Saint Louis County and Municipal Police Academy.

We are honored to welcome these recruits to Berkeley and look forward to supporting them throughout a week of high-quality training alongside some of the best.
