On January 12, 2020, Taal Volcano, in Batangas, Philippines erupted after 43 years, affecting the health, homes, and livelihood of hundreds of thousands of Filipinos in the area.

Clouds of ash were blown more than 62 miles (100km) north of the Taal volcano. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties or major damage from the eruption.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology raised the danger level around Taal to level 4, indicating an imminent hazardous eruption.

Level 5, the highest, means a hazardous eruption could affect an even larger area. More than 40,000 evacuees in Batangas and Cavite provinces have sought shelter in nearly 200 evacuation centers.

Nearly half a million people live within the 9-mile danger zone around the volcano.

Join us as we raise funds to help our kababayan back home — any donation will help make an impact.ßç

It is heartwarming to note that even individual families are helping Batangas evacuees. Kids need to learn early and whenever possible be asked to help with Direct donations. Here is an example - the Efren Abratique family helping to pack underwear for an eastside delivery. No banners, no bragging, no airs. That is how communities have rallied around Batangas - giving what they can.

Young Juan, Joaquín, Baste and their cousins all went to help.

Relief operations will need to continue for sometime because people need permanent relocation. So I hope the Bayanihan spirit extend to jobs, relocation, scholarships, medical aid.

Many families from previous disasters in Mindanao and Visayas still have not found permanent solutions. It is tough and takes time.

THANK YOU FRIENDS FROM PCCI! We will not forget your strong hands in partnership!

455 Aniversario

Attending the 2019 FPACC Leadership Conference in Chicago. Great turn out! Thank U PACCGC for hosting! 🤗
Direct from Yolanda Ortega Stern: The FACE of the Changing Economy - Thanks to Gary Mingle, a University of Chicago Booth Alumni, I have had the opportunity for a year now, to observe Trending issues for FinTech, Science, Management, Etc., initially to prepare for a major Business Conference which has now upgraded into a major Forum in San Francisco. Since he accepted the role of Strategic Adviser for Technology and Business Strategies for the SF 46th Forum By The Bay, Gary has brought me in as the 1 person limit as his guest, to watch, to learn, to grow. Lucky me! Here is what my Eagle Eyes see. The companies coming to pitch are young, dynamic millennials who rent, take uber, married with a kid or two, or single and playing the investment games across every technological advancements. They are very mobile and are in search of a more meaningful life as well, unburdened by mortgage, borders, and limits. The Angels coming to invest are millennials. Booth gives special access to Booth alumni and encourages US projects for now, as well as US investors. They are very friendly, non threatening, and affordable for small startups. My Eagle Eyes see CHANGE HAPPENING IN THE ECONOMY BY HOW MILLENNIALS LIVE, SHOP, TRAVEL, INVEST. So here is what I researched: By analyzing 2015 U.S Census data they found there were 75.4 million millennials, based on Pew's definition of the generation which ranges from 1981 to 1997, compared to 74.9 million Baby Boomers. However, with their revised end date of 1996, millennials are expected to surpass boomers in size in 2019 to 90 Million and this is now a fact! The Boomer generation who control the economic infrastructure will need to adapt and consider new ways to employ, pay, and insure life and health to the population so that those living in the margins are not driven to ghastly alternatives. Meet some powerful millennials - WOMEN who Own and HOLD their own in FinTech and Investments. SAVE the DATES! P.S. Please contact us if your organization wishes to collaborate or sponsor a breakout session or a lunch or dinner. Contact [email protected].
