Come join us to hear how he weathered all of these storms, and his outlook of this current pandemic and economic downturn. We will end the talk about this vision for the AAPI community as he looks for the next generation to take over.

Paycheck Protection Program & Lendistry Info Session Webinar
Tue, Apr 28, 2020
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Join PIDC and Lendistry as we continue our webinar blitz to discuss the requirements of the Small Business Administration Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) application with the re-opening of the program. Time is of the essence in submitting applications, so PIDC is hosting a special fourth (4) webinar with Lendistry.

Lendistry, the leading fintech Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), has entered into a significant financing facility with Goldman Sachs to fund the origination of SBA Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loans to small businesses and non-profit organizations when the program resumes operation. The financing transaction is a part of Goldman Sachs’ recently-announced $500 million lending commitment under its 10,000 Small Businesses initiative.

Lendistry is currently accepting PPP applications from small business owners in twice as many states as before, including many of the most populous states in the country: California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Among the markets targeted through Lendistry’s partnership with Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses are the cities of Atlanta, Baltimore, and Philadelphia, and underserved areas in the states of California, Florida, and Texas.

PH EMBASSY IN DC LIGHTS UP IN HONOR OF FILIPINO MEDICAL FRONT LINERS AND TO MARK THE ONE-YEAR COUNTDOWN TO THE QUINCENTENNIAL “VICTORY AND HUMANITY” ANNIVERSARY

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Philippine Chancery and Chancery Annex buildings along Massachusetts Avenue in Washington, D.C. have been adorned with parols and blue lights in honor of the thousands of Filipino medical professionals who are serving in the frontline of the global battle against COVID-19.

“Filipino healthcare workers are appreciated and recognized internationally for their remarkable contributions in their respective workplaces. Filipino nurses, doctors, caregivers and healthcare workers are very much appreciated in so many states all over the United States. Most are front liners carrying the heavy burden brought by the new coronavirus pandemic, working almost 24/7 as they help in the herculean effort to save the lives of people in the United States,” said Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel G. Romualdez.

The heroism of Filipino medical front liners also resonates with the upcoming Quincentennial Anniversary of the first circumnavigation of the world and the Filipinos’ victory in Mactan. The one-year countdown to the quincentennial celebration starts today, 27 April 2020.

To mark the one-year countdown, the National Quincentennial Committee of the Philippines emphasizes the message that “The Filipino people is one with humanity in combating COVID-19 pandemic. Over adversities and trials, we shall triumph putting humanity first always.” ###

Attending the 2019 FPACC Leadership Conference in Chicago. Great turn out! Thank U PACCGC for hosting! 🤗
Direct from Yolanda Ortega Stern: The FACE of the Changing Economy - Thanks to Gary Mingle, a University of Chicago Booth Alumni, I have had the opportunity for a year now, to observe Trending issues for FinTech, Science, Management, Etc., initially to prepare for a major Business Conference which has now upgraded into a major Forum in San Francisco. Since he accepted the role of Strategic Adviser for Technology and Business Strategies for the SF 46th Forum By The Bay, Gary has brought me in as the 1 person limit as his guest, to watch, to learn, to grow. Lucky me! Here is what my Eagle Eyes see. The companies coming to pitch are young, dynamic millennials who rent, take uber, married with a kid or two, or single and playing the investment games across every technological advancements. They are very mobile and are in search of a more meaningful life as well, unburdened by mortgage, borders, and limits. The Angels coming to invest are millennials. Booth gives special access to Booth alumni and encourages US projects for now, as well as US investors. They are very friendly, non threatening, and affordable for small startups. My Eagle Eyes see CHANGE HAPPENING IN THE ECONOMY BY HOW MILLENNIALS LIVE, SHOP, TRAVEL, INVEST. So here is what I researched: By analyzing 2015 U.S Census data they found there were 75.4 million millennials, based on Pew's definition of the generation which ranges from 1981 to 1997, compared to 74.9 million Baby Boomers. However, with their revised end date of 1996, millennials are expected to surpass boomers in size in 2019 to 90 Million and this is now a fact! The Boomer generation who control the economic infrastructure will need to adapt and consider new ways to employ, pay, and insure life and health to the population so that those living in the margins are not driven to ghastly alternatives. Meet some powerful millennials - WOMEN who Own and HOLD their own in FinTech and Investments. SAVE the DATES! P.S. Please contact us if your organization wishes to collaborate or sponsor a breakout session or a lunch or dinner. Contact [email protected].
