Zane's Trace by Alan Wolf is a curious story of a mentally-ill teenager named "Zane." Zane's father left his family and, his mother killed herself in her husbands pride and joy, a 1969 barracuda. Zane has two friends, a lot of seizures and has the habit on drawing on everything with a sharpie to help him cope with issues. Zane is sick of everything and goes on a road trip in a 1969 Barracuda. Along the way he picks up a mysterious girl and an old gun. The book was well written and every page seemed to be written as if it was a poem. The one thing I didn't about the book was how the author tried to make multiple story lines come together with the character. In my opinion it did not work out that well. Nevertheless a good book and a quick read.

NPR and Radio Diaries are looking for personal, surprising stories from teens. Write it, photograph it (and record it if you want) and submit it to the storytelling site Cowbird. Two entries will be picked to produce audio stories with Radio Diaries and a selection will be featured on NPR.org.

God Says Yes To Me / Kaylin Haught

I asked God if it was okay to be melodramatic
and she said yes
I asked her if it was okay to be short
and she said it sure is
I asked her if I could wear nail polish
or not wear nail polish
and she said honey
she calls me that sometimes
she said you can do just exactly
what you want to
Thanks God I said
And is it even okay if I don't paragraph
my letters
Sweetcakes God said
who knows where she picked that up
what I'm telling you is
Yes Yes Yes

Yeah, I'd live there.

Thanks to everyone who came to our "John and Hank Green: An Evening of Awesome!" party last night! All the Nerdfighters were very happy. Couldn't make it? Here's what you missed:

Last night a sold-out show at Carnegie Hall proved what book publishing and his fans have long known about John Green: There's something deeply powerful about not only the popular Y.A. books he writes, but also about the man himself.
