Bay Area Writing Project The Bay Area Writing Project (BAWP) was established in 1974 at UC Berkeley as a project in the Graduate School of Education.

The Bay Area Writing Project (BAWP) is a collaborative program between the University of California Berkeley and Bay Area schools, dedicated to improving writing and the teaching of writing at all grade levels and in all disciplines. BAWP is a pre-eminent leader in the Bay Area in developing teacher leaders to improve the teaching of writing and improve the use of writing in all subject areas by o
