Through a collaboration with UCSF, Fung Fellows Daniel Geraci, Elizabeth Wiley, Genesis Green, and Nathan Sutherland developed V-Quit, an AI-powered chatbot designed to provide personalized support for people trying to quit va**ng.

"My background is in Anthropology, so I’ve never worked with engineering students or people very central to the STEM or tech world, but it changed the way I view my major, it changed the way I view engineering, it changed the way I view the future possibilities of innovation, health, sustainability, etc.”

Meet Jacky Li, Jack Pham, Zoë Saito, and Hamna Asif — one of many teams who recently completed the UC Berkeley Fung Fellowship, capped off with presentations of their semester long group project. 👋

Their team began researching the invisible methane crisis in California, bringing them face-to-face with the second largest contributor to global warming.

Through a 3-unit lab + lecture course, Fung Fellows utilize an experiential learning process focused on collaboration, design, interdisciplinary tactics, and emerging technology to tackle challenges in health and sustainability affecting local communities.
