Statement from "David" after his court hearing on May 30 in San Francisco:

The misdemeanor vandalism charge against me was dismissed on Friday by a judge.

On April 5, I was targeted and arrested by a SWAT team and 30 police officers, then charged by the DA—falsely accused of damaging a police car at an anti-Trump protest in San Francisco. On Friday, the judge agreed there was no evidence of any damage—because there was no damage. My actions were political speech and entirely nonviolent.

To everyone who stood with me—who showed up, signed the petition, shared the video of my arrest, and demanded Hands Off the Revcoms!—thank you.

A special thank-you to the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office and to the broader legal community for your support. From the bottom of my heart, I’m deeply grateful to everyone who had my back.

Together, we stood up to political repression—and turned it around. This shows: the powers that be are not all-powerful. When we fight back, we can make a difference.

While I’m relieved the charges against me were dropped, I’m not celebrating. Because the demand still stands: The Trump fascist regime must go—NOW.

Let’s stay in this together. Let’s rise to the challenge—through sustained, nonviolent mass protest—to drive out this fascist regime. And let’s build a movement with the courage to confront the system that gave rise to this fascism—with the vision to fight for a world free of all exploitation and oppression.
