Now Hiring: Transportation Supervisor – Kutztown

Looking for an exciting leadership opportunity in transportation?

The Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) is seeking a full-time, 12-month-per-year Transportation Supervisor to oversee communication operations and route assignments for a fleet of vehicles within the Berks County Intermediate Unit Transportation Department. The salary range for this position is $58,499 - $79,145 per year and is commensurate with experience.

In this role, you will:

• Dispatch personnel and vehicles while monitoring vehicle capacity and run times
• Ensure the efficient delivery of transportation services and effective deployment of staff
• Oversee transportation-related billing systems and processes
• Ensure the accuracy of reports submitted to agencies, including the Pennsylvania Department of Education
• Supervise and evaluate employees within the department

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred
• One to three years of management experience with demonstrated leadership skills
• Possess or obtain, within three (3) months, a valid Pennsylvania Class B driver's license with school bus and passenger endorsements, and maintain valid credentials
• Obtain and maintain valid Red Cross First Aid and CPR certifications
• Knowledge of school bus and van rules and regulations established by local, state, and federal authorities
• Geographic knowledge of Berks County and surrounding areas, including the locations of approved private schools attended by Berks County students
