Another great on water event books!

On Saturday, we hosted our third and final canoe paddle lessons with NEK Guides.

It was a great day to learn paddling skills in North Troy starting at Big Falls Eddy Park and getting out at our new river access point two miles downstream 😄

It has been great to test out our paddle skills this summer 🛶🛶🛶

Thank you to Parker and his crew!

Wednesday night, we gathered at Big Falls Eddy Park for a nature paddle with our Orleans and Franklin County Foresters Jared Nunery and Charlie Hancock.

It was a beautiful evening of observing the nature around us and learning from our expert guides.

We managed to get rained on at the very end of our paddle but spirits remained high.

Thank you to our County Foresters and event attendees!

UMATR has been working hard to get kids on the water this summer!

At the end of July, our River Community Grant program funded a Teen River Paddle through North Country Supervisory Union’s Encore program. The students enjoyed a fantastic week on the Missisquoi 🛶

The next week, we hosted our River Explorers Teen River Trip on the Missisquoi. Another week on the river was enjoyed by these teens!

Both trips were run by the fantastic Northeast Kingdom Outfitters & Guide Service

Yay for fun times on the water 💧

It has been an exciting week at UMATR!

Earlier this week, we installed a new river access point in North Troy with Northern Forest Canoe Trail 🛶

One of our AmeriCorps members Natalie has made a fantastic and interactive map showing all of our installed river access points that is now live on our website!
