A huge thank you to Catamount Tree Service for removing the large silver maple tree from the edge of the parking lot. They did a fantastic job in just a few hours, for a very reasonable rate!

Did you know? Berlin Fire also serves as a Decontamination/Spill Unit for the State of Vermont Hazardous Materials Response Team. Tonight we were requested to assist our neighbors at Williamstown Fire Department & Fast Squad contain a petroleum spill on the surface of Rood Pond. 17 Booms Later, the spill is contained!

The Vermont State Police has responded to three suspected drowning incidents in the past 24 hours. VSP reminds the public that state waterways are running high and have strong currents following recent thunderstorms and rainy weather. People should be mindful of conditions and take precautions before entering any body of water, including checking water levels, flow rates, weather forecasts and the potential for underwater obstacles; using a buddy system; and always swimming sober.
