Vermont Youth Development Program

Vermont Youth Development Program YDP ensures that youth ages 14-23 with foster care experience enter adulthood with the necessary support to build productive and fulfilling lives.

We help youth rise above risk factors, find resilience, and not only survive, but thrive. The Youth Development Program is a voluntary program that provides extended care services for young people transitioning out of DCF care. Some of the areas we focus on include: relationships, education, employment, housing, transportation, budgeting, health, risk reduction, community engagement, and leadershi

- Case Management and referral to other community supports
- Connection to long-term supportive relationships
- Life skills instruction
- Post-secondary education and job training support
- Opportunities for advocacy, leadership, and enrichment activities
- Financial supports for youth engaged in services and a plan for success
