💙 These Fab 4️⃣ Are Clocking Out! ✌️

After a combined 100+ years of service, four incredible Seahawks are heading into retirement, and what a legacy they leave behind!

🏥 Debbie Doukas spent 34 years caring for our students, from everyday bumps and bruises to emergency situations, always providing comfort, compassion, and expert care.

📈 Kurt Marx inspired future entrepreneurs and investors for more than 20 years, guiding students through Econ Challenges, the Stock Market Game, InvestWrite competitions, and countless industry-recognized credentials.

✨Miss Catherine Briddell devoted 24 years to keeping Stephen Decatur clean, safe, and welcoming while serving as a mentor and friend to so many along the way.

📚 Stella Malone spent more than 20 years helping students find their voices through English while also making an impact through Color Guard, Legal Interns, and countless other learning experiences.

Thank you for the lives you've touched, the lessons you've taught, and the difference you've made. Stephen Decatur High School is a better place because of each of you.

Brady banks another win! 🤑🏆

Fresh off helping lead our lacrosse team to a state title, Jack Brady ( ) has added another title to his collection: Maryland in the spring ! 📈💰

Competing against 406 teams across the state, Jack finished on top with an incredible portfolio value of $140,709 — that's more than $27,000 ahead of the S&P 500 and nearly $10,000 ahead of the second-place finisher! 🥇

Brady participated in the SIFMA Foundation Stock Market Game as a student in Kurt Marx’s Introduction to Marketing class.

On the final full day of the school year, members of Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society treated Stephen Decatur High School staff to snacks and sodas as a small token of appreciation for all they've done this year.

Thank you to our teachers and staff for helping students solve problems ➕ multiply ✖️opportunities. If appreciation were a math problem, the solution would be infinite! ♾️

🪐✨ From mythology to the Milky Way! ✨🪐

Students in Christie Moore’s Mythology class traveled to the Salisbury University planetarium to see the constellations behind the legends they’ve been studying.

The visit brought classroom lessons to life, allowing students to see how the legends of Perseus, Hercules, Orion, and the Pleiades became permanent fixtures in the night sky long before they appeared in textbooks. 🌌

Who says mythology is ancient history? These students got a firsthand look at how the stars still tell the stories today! 🌟🔭

Geometry is anything but flat in Mr. Tom Hinkle’s classes! 📐✨

Students recently put their geometry skills into action by designing and building impressive geodesic structures. These eye-catching creations are based on geometric principles involving triangles, which provide strength and stability while using minimal materials. 🔺🔻

Hinkle’s students experienced firsthand how geometry is used in architecture, engineering, and design. Great work by some of our aspiring builders and problem solvers! 🧠

You're looking at just a few of the happy faces from our last Learner’s Permit Exam day this school-year! 🚗🎉

With just three examinations this year, we now have dozens of students who are now one step closer to hitting the road.

A special thank you to the MVA Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration for its continued partnership in helping provide this valuable opportunity for our students.
