Weekly Recap-October 23, 2026
Dear BES Families,
Academics and student learning are in full force across all grade levels as we dive deeper into our fall curriculum. Our students are showing incredible focus, and we are so proud of the hard work they are putting into their classrooms every single day.
Here is a look back at our week and a preview of some exciting things coming up:
🌟 School Highlights & Special Programs:
Courtbloom Tennis Workshop: On Tuesday, we kicked off our first Courtbloom tennis partnership! The Courtbloom team pushed into our PE classes throughout the day, giving all of our children an exciting introduction to tennis. Our after-school workshop from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM was also incredibly well-attended, and the students were fully engaged and energized.
The PTO met on Tuesday, October 20th in the Library. Our next scheduled meeting is Monday, January 25, 2027. New members are always welcome!
The 3rd Grade Dictionary Project: A massive thank you to the Dictionary Project for coming through for Carlene Taylor's 3rd-grade class again this year! They generously donated a brand-new, free dictionary to every single third grader. We have proudly utilized this program for four years now, and it has truly been a game-changer to watch each child learn to navigate and use their very own book. Be sure to check out the attached picture below—we captured a great shot of the students holding their new dictionaries up in front of their faces!
📅 Looking Ahead & Reminders:
Trunk or Treat (Next Thursday): Join us next Thursday for Trunk or Treat at Heritage Park from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM! On this day, students are also allowed to wear school-appropriate costumes to school to celebrate.
Academic Calendar Check-In: As a quick reminder, Progress Reports were sent out on October 8th. The end of the 1st Trimester is rapidly approaching on November 25th and Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on December 4th. Please continue to check in with your child’s teacher if you have any questions about their academic progress.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Have a great weekend!
