We want to share an important update regarding the upcoming summer season.
Due to budget challenges, the City made the difficult decision during the budgeting process late last year, to keep the Aquatic Center closed for Summer 2026.
The pool costs approximately $100,000 each year to operate. At the time, the City was facing a projected $400,000 budget deficit, and difficult choices were necessary to move closer to a balanced and fiscally responsible budget.
City Council is currently exploring all options for the future of the pool and how we can move forward in a sustainable way. While this was a difficult decision, it was one that needed to be made.
We understand this is disappointing news for many families and residents who look forward to spending time at the pool each summer. We appreciate your understanding as we continue working to responsibly manage City resources.
If you have constructive ideas, potential funding sources, or are aware of grant opportunities that could support the future of the Aquatic Center, we encourage you to reach out to City Hall. We welcome solutions and community partnerships as we look ahead.
