**VERIZON OUTAGE**

There is a known nationwide outage with the Verizon network. Please do not call 911 to inquire when it will be back up, help us keep the 911 lines open for people calling with emergencies!

At 2:14 PM ET, Verizon posted an update on social media saying that its engineers were "continuing to address today’s service interruptions," but did not provide a reason for the outage or an estimate of when it might be resolved. Customers impacted by the outage are reporting no bars of service or "SOS," indicating a lack of connection. At this time, the cause of the outage is unknown.

If a Verizon Wireless device is unable to connect while in the event of an emergency, users are advised to place the call using a non-Verizon device or a landline, or go directly to a police district station, or fire station.
