Honor Indigenous Peoples’ Day 2021
In the U.S., Indigenous Peoples’ Day is today, October 11th. This official holiday is observed in 11 states including Arizona, Virginia, Maine, South Dakota and New Mexico. Indigenous Peoples’ Day was created as a replacement for Columbus Day, given that the arrival of Christopher Columbus in North America in 1492 had a devastating impact on Indigenous communities. The holiday is dedicated to celebrating the Indigenous peoples of America that lived on the land prior to Columbus’s arrival while honoring the unique cultural contributions of Indigenous communities throughout history.

Autism After-School Program has openings! January began the second semester of our Autism After-School program held at Lincoln Middle School, in Rio Rancho. The attendees meet three times per week, immediately after school, for approximately 3 hours per session. They have fun learning evidenced-based methods to improve social, communication, and inclusion skills through play, modeling, and team work. Want your child in the program? Simply call Richard Flores at Abrazos at 404-8502.
