The Bernardston Senior Center, right in the heart of the village, is known for its welcoming atmosphere, and our May fundraising drive truly showed just how special this community is. You are welcome here, everyone is welcome, we are a community!
We had a wonderful month filled with events that brought people together in meaningful and joyful ways. These included workshops for caregivers and older adults focused on future “Peace of Mind” planning, a delicious spaghetti dinner prepared by our volunteers led by Donna Newton, and a lively cribbage tournament full of friendly competition organized by Rick Roy. We were also thrilled to host Tom Ricardi and his rescued birds of prey, an unforgettable experience for all who attended. Generous lunches donated by Charlene Manor including lasagna, sandwiches, salads, and of course, there was music, lots of music, bringing smiles, laughter, and connection throughout the month.
Our fundraising goal was $3,500, and thanks to the incredible generosity of our seniors, local residents, neighbors, friends, and members from Bernardston and surrounding towns, we raised over $4,100! All of donations directly benefit our older adults through activities, exercise, social events, outreach and food programs!
We feel so fortunate to be part of such a caring and connected community. At the Bernardston Senior Center, we are proud to support aging in place, dignity, and most of all, togetherness. With hugs, smiles and heartfelt gratitude to our amazing volunteers, staff, and everyone who supports us, we truly couldn’t do it without you.
