There have been some changes in our ranks recently that we'd like to publicly recognize.

Effective April 1st, Brad Yoder is promoted from captain to fire chief and we are excited to see him take on this new role of leadership.

Terry "Bud" Kongar, who has served as second assistant chief for five years, moved up to first assistant chief.

Jeremiah Lipscomb was promoted from captain to second assistant chief last November.

We look forward to serving under these men, who we know will continue the legacy of leadership left from our previous chiefs.

Our fire chief John Crider has made the decision to retire from the fire service. We are grateful for the 40 years he spent serving on this department, 14 of those as chief.

During the overnight hours last night, Berne fire department was dispatched to a structure fire. We would like to thank Geneva Fire Department, Chatt Fire Department, Adams County EMS, Adams County Sheriff’s Department, Berne Police Department, as well as Adams County Highway Department for their assistance
