With our new Construction Director, Mike Porter, now on board, we are gearing up to get back on the build site very soon. That means we’ll need enthusiastic volunteers ready to roll up their sleeves and help us build affordable homes right here in Berthoud.

No construction experience? No problem! We teach everything on-site. All you need is a willingness to show up and be part of something truly meaningful. 💛

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to leave you with this. 💛

Throughout May, we’ve talked about the powerful connection between stable housing and mental well-being. Between community and healing. Between a place to call home and the ability to thrive.

Because at Berthoud Habitat, we’ve always known that a home is never just a building. It’s where stress gives way to stability. Where anxiety is replaced by routine. Where families put down roots, build connections, and find the safety they need to truly flourish.

The research backs it up. The families we serve live it every day.

As we head into June, our work continues — building homes, strengthening community, and fighting for a Berthoud where everyone has the foundation they need to be well. 🏡

Last week, we got an exciting sneak peek at the home built by the Geometry in Construction students at Thompson Valley High School, and wow, did they deliver. 🏡💛

These incredible students, alongside their dedicated teachers and volunteers, have built something truly special. Not just a house, but a milestone.

This home will be the very first on Harvest 47, our newest subdivision, marking the beginning of a brand new chapter for Berthoud Habitat. After 25 years of building on 4th Street, this is a moment we'll never forget, and we couldn't be more grateful that the GIC program is leading the way.

Thank you to every student, teacher, and volunteer who poured their time, talent, and heart into making this possible. You are building more than homes. You are building futures. 🙌
