Sponsler Park is reopening this Thursday for the kickoff of the Berwick Borough Summer Concert Series 🎶🎤🌳. Concert starts at 7 PM, but you are more than welcome to show up early to purchase some yummy food.

The park will host the Summer Concert Series every Thursday throughout the summer, except for July 2, and the season will run through September 3. Our final concert of the summer will feature Memory Lane, along with our infamous cake and ice cream night.

This Thursday’s kickoff concert will feature the Dan Hess Band. Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the summer from a variety of vendors - this week, we are excited to welcome back Troop 88, serving some yummy concession food and drinks!🌭🥤🍔

Our wonderful Riverfest Committee will also be selling 50/50 tickets 🎟️and rip-offs throughout the summer. Their efforts help keep Riverfest free, including free admission, free parking, and free entertainment for children and families.

Parking for the concerts can be found along Monroe Street and, thanks to the generosity of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, in their parking lots as well. You can access the parking via Monroe/Center Street as well as J. Jordan Boulevard off of Center and Fair Street.

In the event of inclement weather during the season, a decision will be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the concert, and the concert will be moved to The Berwick Theater and Center for Community Arts, located at 110 E. Front St.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Sponsler Park for a great summer of music.

Again, we would like to thank our partners, Berwick Arts Association, The Berwick Theater and Center for Community Arts, the Community Giving Foundation, for their generous support to make this happen in our community.

Last week, the Borough’s Department of Public Works helped hang the first of many Hometown Hero Banners in Berwick, proudly honoring Clinton M. Hashagen, who served in the 3rd Armored Infantry Battalion of the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1962.
This meaningful initiative is a true community collaboration. The FTC Teen Center Berwick is helping organize and promote the sale of the Hometown Hero Banners, the Borough is hanging the banners for those who choose to sponsor a hometown hero, and the VFWs of Berwick and Nescopeck are also supporting this special effort.
As our community looks ahead to America250, this project is also a meaningful way to reflect on the service, sacrifice, and patriotism of the individuals who have helped shape both our local community and our country.
Together, we are proud to honor our local heroes while creating a visible tribute throughout the Berwick Borough.
Keep your eyes on the Berwick Teen Center’s page for more information on how you can sponsor a Hometown Hero Banner.
Thank you to everyone helping bring this project to life - it has been a long time in the making. We look forward to seeing many more banners displayed in the weeks and months ahead.

Berwick residents — this is your invitation to be part of Berwick’s future.

Whether you live in the Blueprint footprint or anywhere in the Borough--or even if you're just a frequent Borough guest--we hope you will join us for the Berwick Blueprint Strategic Plan Showcase on Thursday, April 23 from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Berwick YMCA Gymnasium.

As we look ahead to this important event, we wanted to share a moment that reflects what this work is all about.

Our Borough Manager, Damien, attended and spoke at the Youth in Philanthropy Ceremony for the Community Giving Foundation yesterday. What made the moment especially meaningful is that years ago, Damien was a YIP participant himself. To now see him return in a leadership role and encourage the next generation is a powerful reminder of how community investment can come full circle.

Damien also attended the YIP Winter Session, where he helped YIP groups think through how they could revitalize their downtowns — work that closely reflects the vision behind the Berwick Blueprint.

If you care about Berwick’s future, we invite you to join us for the unveiling of the Berwick Blueprint Strategic Plan. The evening will include a brief presentation of the plan, opportunities to meet local organizations and community partners, ways to learn how to get involved, and interactive activities and prizes. Guests will also enjoy light fare and refreshments, with hard cider and wine from Red Tail Alchemy, beer from Anomaly Craft Brewing, and music by Emma Berkes and Bradin Kemp.

We hope you will come be part of Berwick’s future.

In observance of the Easter and Passover holidays, and in an effort to allow our staff to spend some well-deserved quality time with their families, the recycling center at Test Track Park will NOT be open this Saturday, April 4, as previously scheduled.

We do realize that many of our residents rely on Saturday hours to access the drop-off site. As such, the center will instead by open next Saturday, April 11, from 8 a.m. until noon. Thank you all for your understanding, and have Easter/Passover.

UPDATE ON THIS EVENING'S ZONING HEARINGS:

Due to illness on the part of a required party, all hearings scheduled for this evening's Zoning Hearing Board meeting will be continued until Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., still at Berwick City Hall. In order to meet Pennsylvania advertisement regulations, tonight's meeting will still be called to order, for the purpose of formally announcing those same details of the continuation. (If you are on the Zoning Hearing Board and reading this, that means that we do still need you to show up, very briefly, this evening!)

The good news--if you were planning to be at tonight's now canceled hearings, you're now free to join as at The Berwick Theater and Center for Community Arts for tonight's FREE concert, featuring Memory Lane! Doors will be open any time now, with the music set to start at 7:00.
