On the first day of spring, we’re coming together for a special evening in support of Mano a Mano Unidos, and we hope you’ll join us.

In some of the darkest and most uncertain moments, Pati, the founder of Mano a Mano Unidos, has continued to show up for families who often feel overlooked. She has delivered food, supplies, and hope — even driving all the way to Minnesota to personally ensure families received what they needed.

That level of dedication deserves to be recognized. It deserves to be supported.

This fundraiser is more than just an event — it’s an opportunity to learn about the heart behind the mission, meet Pati, and stand alongside a movement rooted in service and community.

On the first day of spring, we’re gathering for a special evening to support Mano a Mano Unidos — and we would love for you to join us.

Many of you know that Awake partnered with this incredible organization during Thanksgiving. Together, we were able to support families when they needed it most. That partnership reminded us what’s possible when community comes together with purpose.

During some very dark and uncertain times, Pati, the founder of Mano a Mano Unidos, has shown up again and again for families who often feel unseen. She has delivered food, supplies, and hope — even driving all the way to Minnesota to make sure families received what they needed.

That kind of commitment deserves to be seen. It deserves to be supported.

✨ What an Incredible Night! ✨

Monday reminded us of something powerful: when a community comes together, great things truly happen. ❤️

The team and volunteers showed up with so much heart, from packaging, coordinating, picking up, and delivering, every single person played a part in making this effort a success. And because of that dedication, we were able to provide 60 families in Berwyn and Cicero with a complete turkey dinner for the holidays.

This was also our very first partnership with Mano A Mano Unidos LTD, and we could not be more excited about what’s ahead. Working together felt so natural and meaningful… and we already know this is just the beginning of many more collaborations to come.

A huge thank you to every volunteer, every supporter, and every partner who made Monday possible. Nights like this remind us why we do what we do, because together, we can lift up our community in ways that truly matter.

We’re looking for volunteers to help with:
• 🧺 Packing meal kits (4:30–6:00 PM)
• 🚗 Delivering meal kits (6:00 PM on)

If you’re able to volunteer for either (or both!), please reach out and let us know your availability.

Thanks to the incredible support we always receive from our community, we’re excited to share that we’re partnering with Mano a Mano Unidos this holiday season to provide 60 turkey meal kits for families in Berwyn/Cicero 🧡🦃💛

We’ll be assembling meal kits on Monday, November 24th from 4:30–6:00 PM and then delivering them starting at 6:00 PM.
📍 Location: 6236 W. Cermak

We’re looking for volunteers to help with:
• 🧺 Packing meal kits (4:30–6:00 PM)
• 🚗 Delivering meal kits (6:00 PM on)

We will be at 1619 Wesley at the North Berwyn Park District Community Center at 1pm! Lots of delicious pies are on the line up! Some past bakers plus new bakers coming in for this years title!!!

Apart from tasting and bidding on delicious pies, we’re also collecting gently used coats at The 7th Annual Great Berwyn Pie Bake Off!🥧🧥

If you have a coat you’d like to donate, bring it along! All donations will go directly to Mano a Mano Unidos, who will make sure they reach families in our community who need them most.
