The Harrison County Sheriff's Office encountered a group of runners carrying a flag on a cross-country journey today. The flag, which started in San Francisco, CA, is bound for Washington, DC, to celebrate America's 250th birthday, after traveling 3000 miles. Welcoming the runners to Harrison County, local law enforcement provided assistance and support to the group. Several local runners got to join the group, and were able to carry the flag.

You never know what will travel through our county.

With frigid cold entering into our area over the next few days, the Sheriff’s Office will be open as a warming center. If we reach capacity, the next phase will be implemented and a larger venue will be opened.

The address for the first stage of the warming center is 1501 Central in Bethany.

In addition to spreading Christmas Joy over the last week, the Sheriff’s Office gained a new deputy.

Dustin Robinson recently graduated from the MWSU Police Academy and joined the ranks. If you see him out and about congratulate him on his success and welcome him to the team!

It has been a busy season for the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office. Monday 12/16 we hosted our annual Shop with A Cop event.

Today 12/22 local law enforcement was able to deliver a Christmas surprise to a local family. Both events were made possible by the Law Enforcement Assistance Fund and local donors. Without the support of the community neither event would be possible!
