The Bethany Volunteer Fire Department (BVFD) has requested a $768,000 grant from Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro to construct a “Burn Building/Training Facility” next to their firehouse at the town-owned airport property on Amity Road.
But be aware that the Bethany Burn Building/Training Facility at the Bethany airport will:
• use approx..12-16 wood pallets and straw per
• impact the health and well-being of residents and children playing sports in nearby fields
• affect businesses, outdoor dining, equestrians, rodeo events, the flea market, and other activities nearby
• tarnish the “rural is beautiful” image of Bethany
The Bethany airport is our town green – the place we gather for community events. It is the HEART of Bethany. Let’s not spoil it.
While we respect and appreciate our BVFD, this is the wrong location for burning. Please join us to
