Teens enjoyed Historical Swordcraft on Saturday, learning about swords throughout the years and then some fight choreography as well. As you may have guessed, the fighting was their favorite part. Rest assured only foam swords were used. Thanks to Ms. Nicole for teaching the class and making it so much fun.

We hope everyone has a wonderful start to the school year! Don’t forget to check our flyer for the fall offerings.

Tuesday evening was Ms. Beth’s last shift at the Library. We’d like to thank her for her many years of dedicated service to the Children’s Department.

Over the years, Beth was instrumental in the planning and executing of our popular American Girl tea parties. She ran a successful Mother/Daughter Book Club for many years that created special memories for many of our BP families. She made STEM Days, Escape Rooms, and science clubs all the more fun. She taught classes for homeschool groups, gave tours for Girl Scout groups, and was our 3D printer pro. She was always ready and willing to give of her time and her talents and her presence on our staff will me missed.

However, because she loves the Library as much as we love her, Ms. Beth will be joining the Friends group and helping with library events in a volunteer role. So we look forward to still seeing her around! 🙂

Beth, thank you for your long-time commitment to helping children learn and grow. Your impact has been great.

We wish you all the best!

INSIGHTS INTO THE MYSTICAL -
Presenter: Author Emily Rodavich, Author of Mystical Interludes I and II, Experiencer, Teacher

At age 18, Emily had an NDE (near-death experience) which set off a lifetime of mystical events, experiences she calls mystical interludes. Through troubled times, she has used these events to shift from existing in fear to living in love.

Emily will address the major obstacles that block us from realizing our inborn purpose and power, including programming by family, friends and culture. She will also provide strategies for alleviating fear,  delving within to “know thyself,“ and creating an enlightened world view.

We all have mystical interludes, gifts that give us opportunities to discover our true selves:

* freedom from false fears

* questioning our beliefs, as engendered by our programming

* embracing bodily death as a portal to the Home of our souls

* enjoying peaceful evolution versus revolution

Imagine an assignment in college as a dance major opening a door and leading you to a life-long mission after just one performance.  Anna Harsh made a vision board in 6th grade about dancing professionally, traveling to Italy, and meeting the Pope. Fast forward to her senior thesis project that catapulted her journey fulfilling that vision and so much more.
Her quest to find traditional Italian dances creates questions about her own life. Be prepared to immerse yourself in Italian dances, how families deal with grief, and the highs and lows of directing a dance company.  La Danza – Conflict, Passion, and Healing is a travel memoir of an adventure that has forever changed the life of this Italian-American dancer. Through experiences and humor, Anna invites you along her dancing journey, exploring villages steeped in tradition and local culture. Take a contemporary look at Italy through the eyes of a dancer and experience first hand the Italian gusto, traditions, history, culture, and family legacy in this exciting read.
Join author Anna Harsh on Tuesday, August 18th at 6:30pm at the Bethel Park Public Library for an author/book talk. Please register at the Front Desk, online at www.bethelparklibrary.org, or call 412.835.2207.
