Let's go Hawks! This should be a good game.

Bethel Park will host Moon at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, in a game that will be televised on SportsNet Pittsburgh as part of the revival of WPIAL Thursday Night Football — the first time WPIAL games have been broadcast on Thursday nights in more than a decade.

Coach Phil Peckich called it a "center stage" opportunity, noting the Black Hawks will be the only game on television that night with no NFL action and no Steelers game to compete with.

What a stellar athlete and young man! Go Navy!

Bethel Park High School rising senior Jackson Edwards has verbally committed to swim at the U.S. Naval Academy beginning in the fall of 2027, flipping his commitment from Indiana University.

Edwards, a backstroke and butterfly specialist who trains with Team Pittsburgh Elite Aquatics, finished fourth in the 100 butterfly and sixth in the 100 backstroke at the PIAA 3A State Championships in February.

Another BP great! David was a natural athlete from the time he was a young boy.

Bethel Park graduate David Kessler ‘22, a former IUP standout, is starring at shortstop for the Cape Catfish in the Prospect League — batting .359 with 24 RBI in 26 games — and has earned a spot in the league’s July 7 all-star game in Indiana.

A two-time PIAA state champion at Bethel Park and a key part of IUP’s 2024 NCAA Division II World Series semifinal run, Kessler bounced back from a 2025 hernia injury to post his best college season yet, earning All-PSAC first-team honors.

He’ll return to IUP in the fall to pursue a dual MBA/HR master’s while continuing to chase his MLB dream ahead of a pro day and the 2027 draft.

A cool video of a great young man. He grew up playing at Simmons, where he was a stellar pitcher, first baseman, center fielder, and occasionally the rare left-handed shortstop. He could do it all.

They ended up losing to Mars by 1 goal. Mars went on to win WPIALS and States. Nice job on your first year Coach!

The Hawks boys lacrosse team earned a 12-5 victory over Latrobe in the opening round of the WPIAL playoffs, advancing to the quarterfinals and giving Coach Johnson his first career playoff win.

Bethel Park will now travel to face No. 3 seed Mars on Thursday, May 14, at 7 p.m. at the Mars Athletic Complex. The team bus departs from the athletic entrance at 4:30 p.m.
