LET'S CHANGE WHO CONTROLS US. The PA Liberty Fund endorses Clovis Crane for State Senator in the 48th District.

Clovis supports School Property Tax Elimination, reducing the state budget, term limits, and other limited government reforms that our state needs.

His opponent has openly stated, in their debate, that he does NOT support ANY of the previous or current property tax elimination plans that specify exactly how the property tax would be replaced.

While his opponent opposes property tax elimination for you, he HAS voted to give multi-billion dollar data centers tax breaks. We find this to be absolutely unacceptable.

We are tired of so-called “Republican” legislators handing out corporate welfare and tax breaks to big businesses, while voting to raise taxes on small businesses, and increasing spending, which will result in tax increases on working class people.

If you live in the district, you have certainly seen how nasty this race has become. The Harrisburg elite and the ultra-wealthy lobbyists are attacking Clovis personally, rather than on the issues.

Clovis is right on the issue that regular folks care about, while their candidate is not, so they need to use these ridiculous distractions. They shamelessly attack a great candidate and his family simply because he's a threat to their power.

They are outspending Clovis 6 to 1, in a deep red district primary, because they know Clovis is an independent-minded man with strong convictions.

Like us, he’s simply tired of the same old do-nothing politicians who promise you the world at election time, then just make excuses until the next election cycle.

Clovis Crane has excelled at everything he’s done. From rodeo, to wrestling, to raising top level Thoroughbred horses. He earned his success, and had nothing handed to him.

He gives back to the community with his wrestling camp for kids where they learn to be respectful of one another, discipline, good work ethics, grace in victory as well as in defeat, and many other life lessons far beyond wrestling.

Harrisburg desperately needs fewer politicians who serve themselves and their donors, and more self-made, reform-minded fighters who are strong enough to stand against party leadership when necessary.

Clovis Crane’s opposition isn’t spending all those millions of dollars because they don’t think he’s serious about reform. They’re spending it because they know he is.

Please vote for CLOVIS CRANE tomorrow, Tuesday May 19th.

The PA GOP is playing games with Property Tax Elimination again.

If you read our email a couple weeks ago, you know about the PA House Republicans running a Property Tax Elimination Constitutional Amendment bill that they knew wouldn't pass, just so certain members could claim they voted for it on their campaign flyers.

But now on the Senate side, the GOP is ATTACKING candidates for supporting Property Tax Elimination with misleading ads.

Where does the PA GOP really stand on this issue? For decades, they've recycled their talking points every election season, then do nothing on the issue. Now the House runs a bill just for show, while the Senate attacks the issue.

Here is a letter I sent to the PA State Committee. Please take a moment to read and share.

Dear Fellow Republican State Committee members,

I am writing to you astounded by the recent actions of our Republican State Committee. Across multiple races, they are using our mail permit to attack primary challengers on behalf of incumbents.

Please understand that this practice has not been employed since the 2005-06 pay raise cycle. Fortunately, under the leadership of former Chairman Rob Gleason, he reformed the process for using the mail permit. Under his leadership, Chairman Gleason banned the practice of utilizing negative mail against fellow Republican candidates. He established that the Republican Party would use the mail permit only to send positive mail on behalf of incumbents, candidates endorsed by the state committee or the local party committees.

Recently, Republican State Committee has been running negative mail against Republican candidates in at least the contested races in the 20th, 46th, and 48th senatorial districts. I would note that the one candidate they are sending this mail out on behalf of is the SRCC chair, Senator Chris Gebhard, another is Senator Camera Bartolotta who is married to a convicted felon and a former Democrat Speaker of the House, and Senator Lisa Baker. Senator Bartolotta has been censured by both GOP county committees she represents and has spoken out publicly against President Donald J. Trump’s illegal immigration position as it relates to Charleroi, PA, which has been overrun with Haitian immigrants.

In fact, mailers have been circulating demonstrably false claims about Senator Bartolotta’s opponent, Al Buchtan, and Senator Gebhard’s opponent, Clovis Crane. As a result, the Republican Party of Pennsylvania will likely face lawsuits and the threat of serious financial consequences. These mailers were drafted by LN Consulting and authorized by the Republican State Committee.

In the 20th Senatorial District race, the Republican State Committee recently sent out a mail piece attacking a legislative position many of us care deeply about, property tax elimination. The mail piece makes it seem as though a candidate supports tax increases, while conveniently leaving out the benefits of the proposal, the elimination of property taxes. In addition to purposefully releasing a deceptive mail piece to attack a Republican candidate, it appears now that the Republican State Committee is now firmly in OPPOSITION to property tax elimination, a position championed by many of our state legislators.

This is the swamp supporting the swamp and the practice must end. This also raises serious questions about the decisions and leadership of our State Party Chair, Greg Rothman, who serves as a state senator. Clearly, we need a separation of roles as the pressure to support his colleagues has outweighed doing what is right for the future of the state party.

At our next meeting of the Republican State Committee, I will attempt to make a formal motion to ban this practice going forward. In the meantime, I would ask that they immediately cease these attacks against fellow Republicans and allow the GOP voters of the state to make their decisions on Primary Election Day.

You can thank Sen Chris Gebhard for voting to increase spending $22Billion and debt $500Million over 4 years, to get us to this point

The bill reflects Gov. Josh Shapiro's desired spending levels but is likely to undergo major revisions before final passage.

Last week, there was a vote in the PA House to eliminate property taxes. Well, kind of.

The Democrats used a procedural vote to block an amendment by a Republican rep. that would have allowed PA citizens to approve, or disapprove, a Constitutional amendment to eliminate property taxes by 2030.

The Democrats didn't want to go on record as having voted against a property tax elimination bill, but they didn't want to vote for it either, so they called into question the constitutionality of the amendment, and concocted a vote on whether or not it was constitutional.

You read that correctly. They literally voted on whether or not a constitutional amendment was constitutional. Every republican and one democrat voted "yes". The rest of the democrats voted "no".

Republicans have a few vacant seats, so the democrats were successful in stopping the amendment. So in essence, they voted against property tax elimination.

Before you give Republicans too much credit, they were playing games too. They knew this wouldn't pass, and were doing it for certain members to be able to claim they voted for property tax elimination on their campaign flyers.

We've been fighting this fight for decades now, and if republicans really wanted it to pass, there were opportunities to do so, and they haven't done it either.

But make no mistake, Democrats showed absolute cowardice by going out of their way to avoid going on record on this issue. They could have just voted against the amendment, but they didn't want the public backlash.

Also, according to them, attempts to amend the constitution are apparently unconstitutional. They claimed the amendment violated the "single issue rule".

But the bill that was being amended was ALSO a property tax bill, and was ALSO a Constitutional Amendment! There was no violation of the rule. They just didn't want to vote on property tax elimination for EVERYONE, including YOU.

Here is how your PA House Representative voted. A "yes" vote was in support of the Amendment to eliminate your property taxes. A "no" vote was voting against property tax elimination.

We must let politicians in Harrisburg know that they need to stop playing these games every election year.
