On Monday night we recognized and thanked Jeff Blanch (Firefighter/EMT) as he begins his next chapter. Your hard work, commitment, and countless hours of service have made a lasting impact on our department and the community we serve.

Thank you for your dedication, professionalism, and friendship over the years. While we’re sad to see you go, we’re excited for what lies ahead and wish you nothing but success in your future endeavors.

Once a member of the Stony Hill family, always a member of the Stony Hill family. Stay safe, and thank you for everything Jeff!

At around 2:00 Tuesday afternoon, Stony Hill and Bethel Fire departments responded to a structure fire downtown.

No occupants were injured, and all dogs were rescued by first arriving police officers (great job by our Bethel Police officers!)

The fire burned the majority of the garage where the dogs kennels were and the rear of the house was damaged by fire but was stopped before the rest of the house could be affected.

Thank you to our mutual aid departments that handled the other calls in town that came in all within a span of an hour!

Units on scene
Bethel: Squad 5, Engine 6, A1, and A2
Stony Hill: Engine 1 and Truck 4
Brookfield: Engine 1

We share in the heartache with our brothers and sisters in Brookfield. Chief Martone was one of a kind with a great smile on his face every time we saw him. Rest easy Chief, we will take it from here.

This afternoon Stony Hill responded to I84 Eastbound for a 2 car MVA. A3 transported 1 patient while Engine 3 and Rescue 2 acted as blockers for EMS and State police.

Please use extra caution while on 84 for the next couple of months while construction is still occuring and affecting the traffic pattern.

Starting at 3:00 yesterday, Stony Hill responded to 2 seperate MVAs. The first occured on Route 6 by Bottega, while the second occured on I84 and involved multiple vehicles.

Due to the number at occupants at both accidents, multiple ambulances were called to properly assess and transport patients.

Thank you to our brothers and sisters downtown at Bethel EMS, and Danbury Ambulance and Brookfield EMS for the additional help on I84.
