Today is the first day of dog licensing for the State of CT.
Reminder letters should be arriving today or tomorrow. If your dog's rabies date is highlighted on the letter, we will require a new certificate to license.
This year we offer online renewals!

You may also mail or drop off in the drop box in front of the Municipal Center. We will mail your tag and license to you.
Of course in person is also an option.

Dog licensing begins June 1st. Now would be a great time to check on your furry friend's rabies expiration date. If the rabies is expired we cannot license your dog, so call your vet for an appointment to get vaccinated.

Reminder letters along with a return envelope will be mailed out the end of this month. We will be rolling out software that gives you the ability to license online this June. Letters being mailed out will provide you with more information.

I wanted to get this out as I promised to post today. The First Selectman is posting this in his weekly update as well.

Results from yesterday's election are not finalized. The Registrars of Voters will be posting results when they are completed.

For those that don't know the process:

The polls close at 8 and that is when the work begins. Tapes are run from the tabulators in every district, this is just part of the process for shutting down the polling locations. Each district must deliver the tapes to the central location at the Municipal Center.

Those tapes are read aloud once delivered. Each person on the ballot has totals in each of the districts. The Early Voting tabulators also kick out a tape, as do the Absentee Ballot tabulators. There is also SDR tabulators (Same Day Registration).
Every number for every candidate times 7 all have to be added into the spreadsheet to get totals for 54 people on the ballot plus 8 questions times 7.

As you can imagine this takes much time.
I am just as anxious as all of you to know final results, please have patience and compassion for the poll workers and Registrars and Moderators as they work feverishly to complete this monumental task.

The Municipal Election is taking place on November 4th. Polling places are open 6:00am-8:00pm.

Absentee Ballots are currently available in the Town Clerk’s during regular business hours. Applications available

Early voting begins Oct. 20th through November 2nd 10:00am-6:00pm with extended hours on October 28th and October 30th between 8:00am-8:00pm
