It is with great sadness that AVCP Regional Housing Authority extends its deepest condolences on the passing of Robert Nick.
Robert was a respected leader, elder, and one of the most influential voices in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. He was pivotal during the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act era and dedicated his life to serving the people of the region.
For more than two decades, Robert served as a Commissioner on the AVCP-RHA Board of Commissioners. Alongside his friend and fellow Commissioner, Moses White of Kasigluk, he was one of the longest-serving board members in the history of our organization. Together, they helped guide AVCP-RHA through decades of growth while advocating for affordable housing opportunities throughout the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta.
Today, we honor Robert's legacy and the tremendous impact he made on our communities. We take comfort in knowing that he has now joined his longtime friend and fellow Commissioner, Moses White. Together, they leave behind a legacy of service, leadership, and dedication that will continue to inspire future generations.
In honor of Robert's service and friendship, members of the current AVCP-RHA Board of Commissioners will be traveling to Nunapitchuk to attend his funeral and pay their respects.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Robert's family, friends, and the community of Nunapitchuk during this difficult time.
