Lake users: Regatta May 16th and 17th will result in increased No Wake Zones on the northwest part of the lake, No access on the southeast part of the lake, and the USACE/dam boat ramp to be closed (all other 5 ramps will be open). Law Enforcement will be present asking boaters in the northwest portion to travel along the shoreline for the rowers' safety. The Main Beach will not be available for typical park goers use and you can expect very congested traffic/event use of most parking lots on the south side of the beach.

REMINDER - RAMP CLOSURE
The boat ramp at the dam will be closed Sat. and Sun., May 16-17th for the Midwest Rowing Regatta. Extended no wake zones will be enforced around the main beach area back towards the dam. The shoreline at the boat ramp will be open for bank fishing. The ramp will reopen by 7am on Monday, May 18th.
No other ramps are closed during this event.

Turtle Heroes/Road Crossing Guards....share your location to help identify hotspots!

🐢 Please Report Reptile and Amphibian Road Crossing Hotspots for Wildlife Research 🐸
🔗 https://ow.ly/agO150YVKew
⚠️ Our agency, in partnership with Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio Department of Natural Resources, are asking the public to report locations where they see reptiles and amphibians frequently cross roadways. Wildlife crossings put both animals and passenger vehicles at risk on the roadway, so reports can help ODNR and ODOT can create safer solutions for wildlife crossing areas.

☠️ In spring and summer, reptiles such as box turtles, snapping turtles, and snakes are vulnerable to vehicles as they cross roadways to lay eggs, find new habitat, or seek shelter. In the early spring and occasionally in the fall, amphibians like salamanders, frogs, and toads sometimes cross roads as they travel to breeding areas.

👀 Observers can report locations of reptile and amphibian road crossings via the Wildlife Reporting System (https://ow.ly/agO150YVKew) and on the HuntFish OH mobile app. Observations of live animals are helpful, as are reports of roadkill. Users are encouraged to take note of road crossing locations and submit reports once they are no longer driving. Never use this app while driving; please park in a safe location before reporting or ask a passenger to make the report.

East Fork has lots of fun spring flowers to see and mark off on the Wildflower checklist! These were seen this last week along the Yellow Mountain Bike Trail/Buckeye Trail/Backpack Trail section! Our Orange Mountain Bike Trail on the south side of our park had tree debris gather/damming up one of the little creek's travel path and was causing problems for our bikers and hikers. Yesterday, staff removed the larger tree stumps and cleared the creek path so that the trail crossing could better drain. A previous bridge had washed away/was hauled out and an open rock path put in its place to facilitate drainage/prevent debris build up in the future. While there, staff saw and removed a dangerous tree that was hung up!

We are always thrilled when our volunteers help keep our trails tidy...but sometimes it just calls for a staff member to run a chainsaw, lol! Thanks to our eagle-eye trail folks for letting us know when the spring weather piles up big obstacles! VOLUNTEER today! (PM us for an application!)
