Local Health System Sustainability Project -LHSS The LHSS Project is USAID’s flagship initiative in integrated health systems strengthening.

The path to in is gaining momentum through collaborative stakeholder engagement.

With support from LHSS, Namibia’s Ministry of Health brought together policymakers, civil society organizations, and private sector leaders to co-create a comprehensive policy.

This inclusive approach led to a draft UHC Policy Framework focused on improving quality of care, reducing health disparities, expanding preventive services, and strengthening public health financing.

: The USAID LHSS Project is supporting Jamaica's journey toward a National One Health Policy!

In partnership with the Ministry of Health & Wellness, Jamaica, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining, and the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, LHSS organized a One Health workshop to advance health security.

A key outcome? The development of recommendations to formalize a multi-sectoral One Health Committee—a vital step in fostering cross-sector collaboration to tackle health threats at the human, animal, and environmental interface.
