Earlier today AT751 responded to Inglemere Dr in 26’s area as the 1st due truck for a house fire. PE726 arrived to find smoke showing with a fire in the basement. AT751 forced entry into the basement and worked with the crew from PE726 to locate and extinguish the fire.

Last night Tower 751 responded to California Circle in Co 23’s area on the 2nd alarm for the apartment fire. Tower 751 was able to take a position on Side Charlie and assisted with searches and ventilation.

Four years ago today we lost Fire Chief Israel L.
Burch.

Fire Chief Israel L. Burch was a 20-year veteran of National Institutes of Health Division of Fire and Rescue Services, working his way up from firefighter to master firefighter to captain and finally to assistant chief. He continued to serve admirably as a leader during treatment for his illness.

We take the time today to remember Chief Burch and everything he did for the Department. Continue to rest easy Chief.

This Fourth of July, HazMat 751 was proud to support DC Fire and EMS during the Independence Day celebrations in our nation’s capital.

Crews today visited the East Child Care Center on campus to visit with the kids and go over fire safety topics as well as show the kids Engine and Tower 751.

Overnight Tower 751 responded to its 2nd fire in 24 hours. The Tower responded to a house fire in Co 10’s area. Crews arrived to find a well advanced fire on divisions 1 and 2. Tower 751 operated on division 2 opening up for the engine companies and performing searches. Tower 751 operated for approximately 5 hours before returning to service.
