Little Falls Village

Little Falls Village The Little Falls Village vision is to create a community network of “neighbors helping neighbors"

Little Falls Village is a volunteer-driven neighborhood nonprofit membership organization bringing the resources of the community together to help senior residents live independently in their homes, allowing them to “age in place.” The LFV service area is defined by the neighborhoods along the Massachusetts Avenue
corridor in Bethesda, Maryland (the 20816-zip code area).

Neighborhood Walk Spotlight: Tulip Hill in the books! Yes, we did find the eponymous tulip poplar. A neighbor popped out to help - thinking we had lost a cat in a tree. Hearing of our quest, she said the high fall risk for the fast-growing, shallow-rooted, top-heavy tree had largely lead to its disappearance. Walk takeaway: more mid-century moderns remain in Tulip Hill than tulip trees! Warm summer evening, cool drinks, delightful company and a gracious host. Thanks for helping us rediscover our neighbors and neighborhoods one walk at a time!

Little Falls Village members had a fantastic time dabbling in quite a few sports in 2025... looking forward to another MD Olympic year!

MARK IT DOWN! As part of National Senior Games Week later this month, we're conducting the Maryland Senior Olympics SportsFest on Tuesday, March 17, at Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg. Time: 1-4 p.m.

The goal is to host a fun event for existing MSO athletes wanting to learn more about our other sports while also introducing seniors interested in joining us for the first time. Sports we will demo at the sportsfest:

Bocce, co****le, disc golf, horseshoes, pickleball, shuffleboard, table tennis and tennis. MSO athletes and sports coordinators will be on hand to teach, demonstrate, and answer questions.

This event is free and open to anyone age 50 and above. We welcome groups from senior centers, clubs, recreation leagues, friends and family, and anyone looking for safe, fun, cost-friendly sports activities with a super group.

Walk-ups are welcome, but we would appreciate an RSVP so we can plan how many people to expect. Go to this link to RSVP:

Sponsored by Montgomery County Recreation, Asbury Methodist Village and the National Senior Games.

Congratulations to Rosemary Harding! She's the first recipient of LFV's new "Random Acts of Kindness" program. She was surprised with the gift of a beautiful plant by LFV executive director, Doran Flowers.

Volunteer Steve Blanks nominated Rosemary to be a recipient. Steve gives Rosemary rides and also tech support to help her with her new phone. Along the way, they've become good friends. Steve wanted to show Rosemary how much he appreciates her by nominating her for "Random Act of Kindness."

If you love and appreciate a member or a volunteer, take a picture of you together and send it with a sentence or two to [email protected]. Your shared moments will remind us—and show others—what makes Little Falls Village so special.

And who knows? Maybe your friend (or you) will receive a "Random Act of Kindness."

In an unexpected act of kindness, Suzanne D. gifted another of her wonderful wildlife photos to the LFV office! After LFV’s Executive Director killed all the wonderful office plants through ignorance and neglect, the growing art collection from LFV members is both not deserved and truly appreciated.

We had a blast at this year's Holiday Party! Here's a glimpse into the food, friendship, and music of our spirited celebration.

Thanks to the wonderful performances by the talented DSE-Ray Ensemble from Walt Whitman High School and to Girl Scout Troop 34177 from Wood Acres Elementary for helping with the party.
