NIH Patient Library

Welcome to the NIH Patient Library page! Patients and their families are welcome to check out materials during their stay at the Clinical Center. With a collection of over 7,000 items, we strive to provide NIH patients with a variety of current and popular releases in books, audio books, music, DVDs and XBOX 360 games. The library also offers ebooks via Libby, and streaming guided imagery

on our Healing Streams page. The Patient Library subscribes to over 20 magazines as well as The Washington Post and The New York Times. Located on the 7th floor of the Clinical Center in a spacious and light-filled room with great panoramic views, patients can take a break from their rooms and daily appointments to peruse our collection, read quietly in one of our cozy wing chairs, or use one of our computer work stations to scan, print, or check emails. Whether you’re a patient or family member/caregiver, staff of the Clinical Center, or simply visiting the NIH Bethesda campus, we invite you to stop by our cozy little lending library!
