🍂🎃 Get ready for some fall fun! LVA is hosting its First Annual K–5 Pumpkin Decorating Contest, and we can’t wait to see our Jaguars’ creativity shine! 🎨

📅 Mark Your Calendars:
🎃 November 6: Bring a plain, undecorated pumpkin to school.
🎨 November 9–13: Classroom decorating.
🍂 November 16–20: Pumpkin display.
🏆 November 20: Voting closes at the end of the school day!

Contest Reminders:
• Pumpkins must be no larger than a bowling ball.
• Pumpkins must arrive plain and undecorated.
• Designs must be created by the student.
• Students may bring their own decorating supplies.
• An alternative activity will be provided for students without permission to participate.

📣 Families, check your student’s backpack! A flyer and parent/guardian permission slip should have been sent home with your student. Please review the information, complete the permission slip, and return it as directed so your child’s participation and pumpkin needs can be confirmed.

📚✨ A Night of Stories, Creativity & Imagination at LVA! ✨🎨

Our LVA K–5 families joined us last week for a special evening with award-winning author and illustrator, Brian Lies! From a behind-the-scenes look at his creative process to a special presentation featuring his beloved books, families had the opportunity to celebrate the magic of reading together.

Brian brought his stories to life with live drawing demonstrations, giving our young readers a firsthand look at how his imagination turns into the characters and illustrations they love. Families also enjoyed a special meet-and-greet and book-signing session, creating memorable moments with the author and taking home signed books!

Thank you to Brian Lies and all the LVA families who joined us for an evening filled with creativity, connection, and a shared love of reading! 💙📖

Members of the National Guard visited Mrs. Vinci’s Career Pathways class to share their career experiences, discuss how they got started with the National Guard, and give students a closer look at the opportunities available through military service.

Students had the chance to ask questions, learn more about their career journeys, and gain insight into the skills and experiences that have shaped their paths. Thank you to the National Guard for taking the time to connect with our students and help them explore their future possibilities! 💼

Attention High Schoolers: Looking for a place to connect, learn, and make a difference at LVA?

Join the Sexuality and Gender Acceptance (SAGA) Club! This student-led advocacy group promotes awareness and education related to LGBTQIA+ youth while helping foster a positive, welcoming school climate.

Meetings are open to all students and take place every other Monday during homeroom in Madame Wingerter’s room 2276, near the main 6–12 entrance on the second floor.

Bring your breakfast, come hang out, and be part of a community built on awareness, acceptance, and support!

📚 A special lunch with a story to tell!

Our 3rd-grade students who were recently recognized for the IB Trait of the Month enjoyed a special private luncheon with author and illustrator Brian Lies yesterday!

During lunch, students asked thoughtful questions and got a behind-the-scenes look at life as a writer and illustrator, learning more about the creative process and how stories come to life through words and illustrations.

What a memorable opportunity to learn, connect, and be inspired by a published author! We’re proud of our young learners and their curiosity! 🐆

🌱 From Garden to Table… Round Two! 🥣

Our middle school students lined up once again for a special farm-to-table treat from Mrs. George’s garden! This time, the star of the show was tromboncino squash, giving students another opportunity to see how fresh, homegrown ingredients can make their way from the garden to their plates.

With help from our Metz Culinary Team, students got to sample something new while experiencing the connection between gardening, food, and healthy eating.

We love seeing Mrs. George’s garden continue to bring learning to life in such a delicious way! 💚
