I’m thrilled to see Bethlehem’s first Fitness Park come to life! Growing up in the area, it’s especially meaningful to help create new opportunities for local children and families.

I’m proud to have secured state funding for this project. Providing safe, accessible places for children to play, stay active, and build friendships is an investment in their development and in the future of our community.

Today, I took to the Senate floor to urge my colleagues to act NOW and give Independent voters a voice in Pennsylvania’s primary elections.

This is an issue I have been working on and advocating for 25 years. It’s time we finally get it done.

Senate Bill 400, my legislation, would simply give Independent voters a seat at the table in our primary elections.

Independent voters deserve a voice. They deserve a choice. And they deserve action.

I’m calling on my colleagues in the Senate to pass SB 400 and stop leaving nearly 1.5 million Independent Pennsylvanians on the sidelines.

After 25 years, the time for waiting is over. Let’s get this done.

🧬 Two pieces of legislation I have sponsored to expand access to genetic testing for patients across Pennsylvania passed the state Senate today and are now headed to the House of Representatives for consideration.

Pennsylvania is currently the only state in the nation where licensed genetic counselors are explicitly prohibited from ordering genetic tests. This is a commonsense change that removes an unnecessary barrier and makes it easier for patients to access the genetic testing they need.

Listen, we can’t control the price of gasoline—but we can control the taxes we put on it. At a time when families are already feeling the squeeze, every dollar 💵 matters.

A Pennsylvania state senator is pushing a plan she says could put millions of dollars back into residents’ pockets by temporarily suspending state fuel taxes.

Pennsylvanians are feeling the impact of rising gas and diesel prices, and I’m continuing to push for relief.

Through Senate Bills 1264 & 1265, I am calling for a temporary suspension of Pennsylvania’s gasoline and diesel taxes to help consumers and businesses manage rising fuel costs amid instability in global oil markets.

I opposed the gas tax increase enacted in 2013 because higher fuel prices hurt working Pennsylvanians. I felt that way then, and with fuel prices rising, I feel even more strongly about it now.

A temporary suspension of the gas and diesel taxes could save consumers more than $290 million, helping Pennsylvanians to keep more of their hard-earned money in their pockets.
