Northampton County – July 13, 2025

Northampton County Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Accepting Applications for Public Safety Grants

[Northampton County, PA]– County Executive Tara Zrinski and the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) announce that the County of Northampton will accept applications for 2026 Public Safety Grants from July 20 through August 28, 2026.

Public Safety Grants are available to Northampton County’s municipal and volunteer Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Service (EMS) organizations. The grants can be used for capital improvements, vehicle purchase, equipment purchase, and training. Eligible organizations can apply for up to $20,000 per application or project.

Approvals are scheduled to be announced in December 2026.

“We do this each year because we know how important our emergency management organizations are,” says Executive Zrinski. “We want to ensure our first responders are equipped with everything they need to serve the residents of Northampton County before a crisis happens, not after.”

Northampton County Announces 2026 Annual Awards Ceremony Call for Nominations



Who: Northampton County Executive Tara Zrinski and the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED)

What: DCED Seeking Northampton County Resident Award Nominations for 2026 County Awards Ceremony

When: Nomination deadline September 21, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.

Where: Courtroom 1 at the Northampton County Courthouse

[Northampton County, PA] – Northampton County will hold its 2026 Annual Awards Ceremony on Thursday, October 8, at 5:00 p.m. in Courtroom 1 at the Northampton County Courthouse.

Northampton County will present awards to residents in the categories of Volunteer, Youth, Business, Veteran, Samaritan, and Emergency Personnel.

Community members are encouraged to nominate deserving individuals and organizations using the form on the DCED website at https://www.norcopa.gov/dced. To submit a nomination, please contact Dawn Tomaino at [email protected].

Nominations for Outstanding City and Municipal Employees will be submitted directly by their municipalities.

The event is free and open to the public.

Northampton County to Accept Applications for 2026 Grow NORCO Program Grants

WHO: Tara Zrinski and Department of Community and Economic Development

WHAT: 2026 Grow NORCO Program Grants for nonprofits and municipalities

WHEN: Applications open April 20 – May 29, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.

[Northampton County, PA] – County Executive Tara Zrinski and the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) announce that the County of Northampton will accept applications for the 2026 Grow NORCO Program from April 20 until 4:00 p.m. on May 29, 2026.

Grow NORCO grants are available to a federally registered nonprofit entity, 501(C)(3) or 501(C)(4) or a municipal entity located within Northampton County. Grant funds can be used for Capital Improvements, Quality of Life Initiatives, Façade Programs, Operations and Community Planning. Eligible organizations can apply for up to $50,000.

Awards will be announced in December 2026 and all projects must be completed by December 31, 2027.
