On August 25, 1944, Paris was free 🇫🇷
After four long years of N**i occupation, Allied troops - alongside the Free French Forces and United States Army / marched into the city, greeted by cheering crowds, ringing church bells, and the return of the French tricolor flying proudly once more.
For Caroline Ferriday, this moment must have been deeply emotional. France was not just a place she admired - it was a country filled with people she loved. After years of fear and uncertainty, the liberation of Paris likely brought overwhelming relief, joy, and hope.
But for Caroline Ferriday, liberation was not the end of the story - it was a call to action. In the years that followed, she would devote herself to helping survivors of N**i brutality, including those from Ravensbruck concentration camp.
Today we remember the joy of Paris set free - and the compassion of those who turned that moment of victory into a lifelong mission of healing.
