Northampton County Remains in a Drought Watch as conditions improve in some areas of Pennsylvania...

UPDATE from the Commonwealth Drought Task Force 💧

· A drought watch has been lifted for 22 counties.

· Berks, Lancaster, and Lehigh have drought status improved from Warning to Watch.

Conditions have improved across western Pennsylvania, they said, but there is still significant recovery needed in many areas of PA, and why Watch and Warning Declarations continue in many counties.

Water suppliers or municipalities may continue to ask residents for conservation actions.

Residents should always follow any notifications provided by their local water supplier.

Lower Saucon Authority employees participated in Saturday's Touch A Truck event. They set up a table where visitors could see and touch examples of different meters and worn pipe sections. It was a good day and a fantastic event!

Lower Saucon Authority crews will be opening hydrants and flushing mains for two weeks starting Tuesday, April 7. This is part of our normal preventative maintenance on the system, and is done to remove accumulated sediment. It is the water system's equivalent of a "Spring Cleaning".

As the water will often be briefly discolored ("rusty") during this process, customers should avoid running water or especially doing laundry on the day their area is being flushed. Iron and manganese, which are in the oxide scales which are being removed, can cause staining of laundry under the right conditions.

See the Laundry Tips section ( https://lowersauconauthority.org/information/laundry-tips/ ) on our website if you inadvertently draw discolored water into your washing machine during the flush, or contact us at 610-317-3212. Do not dry or bleach affected laundry if that occurs, as these actions can help to set the stain.

Customers for whom we have a current phone number will be called the evening before by our automated phone messaging service (OneCallNow) and reminded that their area will be flushed the following day. If you are not sure that we have your current number, call Emily (Ext 2) or Stacey (Ext 3) at 610-317-3212 and they will update our records. Or, you can simply click on the update on our homepage to send us an e-mail update.

The following will be flushed on Monday, 4/20/26:
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS (all streets) and SEIDERSVILLE RD.

This will complete our Spring flushing!
