We are excited to share that our apparatus fleet is once again back at full strength. Today, Engine 4 was officially placed back in service following the successful completion of its rehabilitation.

We would like to thank the Town of Bethlehem and our taxpayers for their continued support throughout this project. Through the combined use of ARPA funding and Capital Improvement Funds, we were able to rehabilitate two Class A pumpers and significantly extend their service life well beyond their original expected lifespan.

The Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank the Bethlehem Firefighters Association Special Projects Committee for partnering with M&H Equipment Service LLC and STIHL to purchase two new STIHL BR800 leaf blowers.

During brush and wildfire operations, leaf blowers have become a vital tool for removing both burned and unburned fuels, helping crews quickly establish effective fire lines.

For those who may not be familiar, the Bethlehem Firefighters Association helps raise funds to acquire equipment and tools that may fall outside the Fire Department’s normal operating budget.

Just a few punch list items and we are looking forward to having a full fleet back in town!

We’d like to take a minute to give a big “Thank You” to our telecommunicators over at Northwest Connecticut Public Safety Communication Center. From the moment someone calls 911, until we sign off the radio at the end of an incident, they are integral to our operations.

This week, as we observe National Telecommunicator Week, we want to take a moment to shine a light on the incredible team right here at NWCTPS Communication Center and all of our colleagues across the country.

Our telecommunicators are truly The Lifeline Behind the Call. When seconds count, they are the first voice you hear, the steady hand that coordinates help, provides life-saving instructions, and ensures our field responders arrive safely.

It’s easy for this critical work to go unsung because it’s often unseen, but we see it every single day. The commitment, the expertise, and the genuine compassion they bring to the job make all the difference for our communities.

To our NWCTPS staff and all public safety telecommunicators: Thank you for your unwavering service. We see you, we value you, and we thank you.

Happy National Telecommunicator Week!
