Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department Established in 1940, the Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department serves the community of Bethlehem, CT.

The Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1940 to serve the citizens of Bethlehem, Connecticut and the surrounding area. The department consists of members from both Bethlehem and neighboring communities. BVFD responds to fire, rescue, and medical emergencies 24 hours a day 365 days out of the year. Looking for a fun event for the whole family this September?

The Bethlehem Firefighters Association is excited to welcome fire departments from around the area to Bethlehem for a Firemen’s Parade!

The parade will follow the Memorial Day Parade route, beginning at 3 Flanders Road and ending at the Bethlehem Fire Department.

After the parade, join us on the Babe Ruth Field for an afternoon of food, refreshments, and fun! Have a town organization that would like to get involved? Let us know!

This year, participating departments are invited to come out, enjoy some friendly camaraderie, support our communities, and help us raise money for the Litchfield County Firefighters Cancer Relief Fund. All proceeds from parade registrations will be donated directly to the fund.

Registration is restricted to Fire Departments and Private Fire Apparatus Only. However, anyone can come to watch and join us at the Babe Ruth Field after.

Come out, support the fire service, and enjoy a great day with your neighbors!

It is with heavy hearts we remember and honor Bethlehem Ladies Auxillary member Katherine Lorensen, wife of Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department Life Member Clark Bennett, who passed away with peace and grace on Sunday, August 2nd. Please keep her family, friends, and community in your thoughts and prayers.

Shortly after 10:00 a.m. this morning, members were dispatched to Main Street North for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, crews found the interior of the home filled with smoke. A working fire was declared, bringing in assistance from our mutual aid departments. Although a hose line was deployed, firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire to a single area within the home, minimizing damage to the rest of the structure.

We’d like to thank our Mutual Aid Partners Morris Fire Company, Bantam Fire Company and Litchfield Fire Department CT as well as Bethlehem Ambulance Association, Inc. for standing by.

On this 250th Anniversary of American Independence Weekend, our members have been hard at work serving our community.

The weekend began on the morning of July 4th as members assisted with preparations for the Town of Bethlehem's 250th Celebration Parade. Firefighters proudly represented both the Town and the Department as they marched in the parade and partnered with the Bethlehem Ambulance Association, Inc. to provide coverage throughout the event.

Later that evening, after severe weather unfortunately cut the celebration short, the department was requested as part of Task Force 83 to respond with an engine and crew to Torrington. Our members assisted with coverage while Torrington crews responded to multiple storm-related emergencies throughout the city.

On Sunday morning, the Bethlehem Firefighters Association hosted its annual Car Show, welcoming community members and automotive enthusiasts for another successful event.

The busy weekend will conclude tonight as our members provide fire protection standby for the Town of Bethlehem's Independence Day fireworks display.

We are proud to serve our community whenever and wherever we're needed. Have a safe and happy Independence Day weekend!

On Friday evening, members attended our neighbors, Washington Volunteer Fire Department’s 100th Anniversary Parade. After great work put in by all, we are happy to report we received three trophies, Best Company 15 Members or Less, Most Ladies in Line, and Best Appearing Ladies Auxiliary.

We are also happy to report Bethlehem Ambulance Association, Inc. receiving Best Appearing Ambulance.

Great work by all and we are proud to represent the Town of Bethlehem at many other parades throughout the year that we attend.
