🔥High Fire Danger Remains Across North Carolina!

🚫🔥A Statewide Burn Ban Remains in Place.

‼️Do. Not. Burn.

đźš’ The N.C. Forest Service reports that as of today, there has been over 626 new fires over the last 10 days, with over 114 occurring statewide since the burn ban took effect on Saturday.

👏 Thankfully as of tonight, the vast majority of these fires have been quickly controlled by our state's firefighters, park rangers, and state forest service rangers. Thank you for your bravery and hard work! The Old North State is proud of you!

❗️Do your part- do not burn outdoors. If you smoke, extinguish your ci**rs or ci******es in an appropriate manner. Report anyone burning outside to 911 so firefighters can extinguish it before it becomes a wildfire!

At tonight’s Board and Business Meeting, President Bob Houston and Chief Joey Carter presented Assistant Chief Shane Rhodes with the 2025 Firefighter of the Year Award. Due to low relative humidity, dry fuels and windy conditions, fire danger is elevated across the southern Piedmont into the Sandhills today, Jan. 11.

Outdoor burning is NOT recommended. Dry grasses, dead leaves and other vegetative debris could easily ignite and spread quickly.

Spread prevention, not wildfire.

This past Saturday, the Beulaville Volunteer Fire Department held its annual Christmas Party.

During the event, several members were honored for their dedication and service.

Brayden Leverance, Eron Ferrell, and Holt Mercer were recognized as new members.

Lieutenant Matthew Maready was presented with his ten-year service pin in recognition of a decade of commitment to the department.

Assistant Chief Ronnie Bostic was awarded his thirty-five-year service pin in honor of his outstanding thirty-five years of dedication.

2025 Fireman of the year is to be announced at a later date.

It was a great time had by all—current members, retired members, and their families who attended. Our retired members were honored and recognized for the incredible foundation they built. Their dedication and hard work laid the groundwork for everything we have today, and without their contributions, our department simply wouldn’t be where it is.

Chief Carter extends his sincere appreciation to each and every member of the department for their hard work and unwavering commitment to serving the community. He also expresses his gratitude to the citizens of the Town of Beulaville and the East Duplin Fire District for their continued support.

As the holiday season approaches, the Beulaville Volunteer Fire Department wishes everyone a joyful, safe, and peaceful holiday.
