Tips to protect yourself and others from the impacts of heat waves:
-Drink plenty of water throughout the day—don’t wait until you’re thirsty.
- Limit strenuous outdoor activities, especially during the hottest part of the day.
- Wear lightweight, loose-fitting, light-colored clothing.
- Stay indoors or spend time in an air-conditioned location.
- Check on older adults, children, neighbors, and others who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat.
- Never leave children, adults, or pets unattended in a parked vehicle.
- Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
