We are thrilled to finally share with you the complete draft of PlanBeverly - the City's new Master Plan! If you've been participating since the beginning, you know that the preparation of this plan follows an extensive public process held in late 2019 / early 2020, including meetings, workshops, surveys, and opportunities for review of the individual components of the Plan. The Plan was largely compiled by mid-March when the pandemic caused our attention to shift. Read the letter from the Mayor, at the front of the Plan, to learn what we've done since then.

DOWNLOAD THE PLAN HERE:http://www.beverlyma.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/PlanBeverly_Draft_Nov13_pages.pdf
You can also find the plan link on the Planning Department's webpage: http://www.beverlyma.gov/departments/planning/. The Plan will be added to http://plan.beverlyma.gov early next week.

The Planning Board will be discussing the plan, virtually, at their meeting on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. This meeting is open to all and will be recorded by BevCam for viewing later. Meeting info is on the City's website.

The Cities of Beverly and Salem have officially kicked off Resilient
Together, a collective plan to address climate change. Follow the Resilient Together page and please take the survey available now on the project website: https://resilient-together.org/home.

The Climate Action and Resilience plan focuses on reducing the cities’ greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emissions - the primary pollution that is causing disruption to our climate. Through Resilient Together, the cities strive to exceed Massachusetts’ commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050 while also enhancing the economic, environmental, and social resilience of both communities.

We want to hear from you!

Beverly’s Planning Department is preparing a Historic Preservation Plan, which will supplement PlanBeverly. Although the March community workshops were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City continues to seek community input on priorities and concerns regarding historic neighborhoods, buildings, preservation tools, and more. Please see an Intro to the survey here:http://www.beverlyma.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Historic-Preservation-Plan-Survey-Introduction.pdf

It takes about 10 minutes to take the survey, which can be accessed here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BeverlyHP

The results of this survey will help the City of Beverly evaluate the community's goals and concerns related to historic preservation, and set priorities among recommendations to be presented in the City's first Historic Preservation Plan. The plan will be completed in the fall of 2020.

PlanBeverly Comprehensive Plan Update! We had a full draft of the Comprehensive Plan (or Master Plan) nearly ready for final public review at the time the social distancing orders were put in place in mid-March. We've taken a brief pause as we direct some of our attention to addressing the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on our community. We are also working on a plan for a revised public review process that is safe and accessible. We look forward to sharing the plan with you soon.
