To the Red Bird Community - We hope you enjoyed tonight’s show!

Anyone that took videos and pictures, please share or tag us!

Unfortunately, you may not have been aware but our chief was injured by a malfunction of a multi-shot firework during the finale. We were able to extricate him quickly from the field and head out to meet an ambulance.

We hope you now understand the disruption at the end of the show and appreciate your prayers and support.

Thankfully, through years of experience and safety procedures in place, he sustained only minor burns and impact injuries to his face and needed a few stitches.

Again, this is a reminder to be careful when having your own celebration! It’s better to be prepared. Always wear safety glasses, have an extinguisher nearby and have a plan if something happens.

We hope you have a safe and happy 4th of July!!

Today we remember RBVFR Fallen Hero - T. Rodney Collett #337. Rodney dedicated his life to his community in many ways; his last years in volunteer service to our department.

On this anniversary, we remember the sacrifice of his life given to protect other's lives and property. We continue to remember his family's sacrifice as well - bringing him up in a way that he knew that it was God's calling to help his community.

He will forever be our HERO - never forgotten!! Rodney, thank you for continuing to serve as our guardian angel!

To Shirley, Connie Jo and the rest of the family...we love you!
