Parents! Reminders about youth classes at our gym. PLEASE READ!
1. All classes must be booked ahead of time in the Glofox app. Everyone should have a Glofox account by now. If that’s not the case, see the front desk today to get set up. Classes will be capped, so no booking will mean no class that day.
2. Parents are not to coach or shout at the kids during class. Parents are encouraged to observe class from the sidelines and give their child support when needed (crying, injury, etc.). But all parents must refrain from sideline coaching as it can disrupt the students’ ability to focus and learn. If you wish to be more involved, sign up to be a volunteer mat assistant today!
3. Tuesdays and Thursdays are Gi days. The Gi is a required uniform and must be worn in order to take class. Gi rentals are $5 and supplies are limited.
4. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are MMA days where we mix up the grappling, striking, and sometimes we do both! Loaner gloves and shin guards are available on a limited basis, you may also purchase your own.
5. Always remember that these are kids and not professional athletes. They’re going to make mistakes, they’re going to have bad days. It’s all part of it. Some kids may grasp things a lot quicker than others, and that’s ok! There is no need to make unfair comparisons. Let them learn at their own pace and have fun while doing it! We want performance focused students, not result focused ones.
6. Discipline starts at home. Period. If you come to us hoping we’ll “fix” your child’s behavior problems, you’re in for a bad time. We act as a supplemental resource in your son/daughter’s development, not a replacement for parenting. We’re just one part of the village raising these kids into responsible adults.
Other than these reminders, please follow all gym rules/policies and please respect the space.
Thank you and we’ll see you at the gym!
