🔥 Silent Auction Items Needed! 🔥

The Big Cabin Volunteer Fire Department is seeking silent auction donations for the upcoming Fall Festival—and we need your help to make it a success!

🎁 Auction items can include (but are not limited to):
• Gift baskets
• Outdoor & recreational items
• Home décor or handmade items
• Gift cards or services
• Experiences (lessons, passes, tickets, etc.)
• Kids’ items or family fun packages
• Business-donated products or services

Items can be donated by local businesses or community members—every contribution helps support our firefighters and the work they do for our community.

-Please have donations turned in by September 30th!

ATTENTION CRAIG COUNTY RESIDENTS: A county-wide burn ban is now in effect as of 9:00 a.m. today.

The burn ban was issued by the Craig County Commissioners and will be revisited weekly every Monday morning.

Please do not conduct any outdoor burning while the ban is in place. Dry conditions can cause fires to spread quickly and create dangerous conditions for firefighters, property owners, and the public.

We appreciate your cooperation as we work together to keep Craig County safe.

🚒 National Volunteer Firefighters Day 🚒

They don’t wait to be asked—and they don’t hesitate when everything around them is falling apart. They hear the call and become the calm in the chaos, running toward danger not for recognition, but because they are driven to serve.

Today we honor the men and women who drop everything when the pager goes off—not for a paycheck, but because their communities need them.

Life stops in an instant. Meals are left unfinished, sleep is cut short, family time is interrupted, and work is set aside. Ordinary moments turn into urgency, smoke, sirens, and uncertainty—and still, they go. Every time.

To my fellow volunteer firefighters : thank you for the courage to leave home no matter if it’s day or night, the strength to keep going when you’re exhausted, and the heart to serve without expecting anything in return. We see you and appreciate it more than you realize.
