Deadline extended for a short time only: In Horseheads, any K-12 student can ride the bus. If your family will require transportation in the coming school year, please submit a bus request form before the end of this school year. Your timely submission helps the Transportation Department finalize routes over the summer and avoid last-minute adjustments that can cause confusion for students and families.

Thursday was Unity Day in the Horseheads School District, a time for 4th graders at Big Flats, Gardner Road and Ridge Road Elementary Schools to have a field day and get to know each other before transitioning to the Intermediate School as one, unified class of 2034. Heartwarming moments were captured during the Class of 2026 Senior Walk. Graduating seniors revisited their old Elementary Schools and were greeted with a heroes' welcome by current students. More than just a photo opportunity, seniors are providing a great example and motivating future Horseheads graduates toward the finish line.

A SURPRISE presentation by the Retired Educators of NY (Southern Zone) Grant Committee intervened in Social Worker Susan Scibek 's class on Monday, notifying her that a grant request in support of Big Flats Elementary School's Anti-Bullying Unity Day was successful. The $2,000 in funding will help carry out “Buddy Days”, where two classrooms get together to support a building-wide project.
