Fridays at Big Pine Academy aren't just about tests and classwork. Even with assessments and academics on the schedule, we make time for students to have fun, be creative, and enjoy being kids.
Today was Game Day, with students showing off their favorite team colors, and Fun Friday, where students chose STEM experiments and other creative activities happening all over campus.
We work hard, but we also believe in making school a place students love to be.

🎨 Many Artists. One Collaborative Masterpiece.

What happens when every artist is given the same materials, but the freedom to create in their own way? Something pretty amazing! ✨

Inspired by the work of Laura Petrovich-Cheney, our students explored how individual shapes, lines and colors can come together to create one cohesive work of art. Each student made their own creative choices, yet when combined, those individual pieces became part of something much bigger.

The best part? No two pieces are alike—and that’s exactly what makes the whole artwork work. 💙🎨

Today, 18 of our 4th and 5th grade students received $50 gift cards for earning Career and Technical Education (CTE) certifications at the end of last school year!
A special thank you to Caroline Belske, Monroe County School District Social Studies/CTE Director, for delivering the gift cards, which were generously funded by the Golden Fleece Foundation.
We are incredibly proud of these students for their hard work, perseverance, and achievement. Earning industry-recognized certifications at such a young age is an outstanding accomplishment and a testament to their dedication.
Congratulations to all of our recipients! We cannot wait to see even more of our Big Pine Academy Eagles earn certifications and celebrate their successes this year.

🧪✨ Third graders’ dreams came true in science today! ✨🧪

After exploring the properties of matter, students wrapped up their learning with an exit ticket—and then, much to their surprise… it was SLIME TIME! 🤩

Our big question: Does mixing two or more substances together result in a new substance? Students got to investigate this question firsthand as they mixed, observed, measured, and watched their ingredients transform into something completely new.

What better way to learn about matter than by getting our hands messy? 🧪💚 The excitement was REAL, but so was the science! 🔬✨
