Today was great! 👷🏼‍♂️⚠️🚧👷🏻‍♀️🤩

Today the 5th grade visited a bridge in Round Valley, two bridge construction sites in Bishop, checked out a few of the bridges at the Bishop Park while they ate lunch, and worked on their own bridges!

Special Thanks to Kami and CalTrans for sharing your knowledge and the up close look at a working bridge job site! (Including hands on experience working a machine!) 🏗️

In Spanish class, the 8th graders learned about colors vocabulary and noun-adjective agreement to describe the world around them. As a culminating project, they created their own original Spanish Colors Storybook to teach first graders the colors in Spanish. They selected their theme, illustrated their images, wrote their sentences in English and Spanish, and made revisions to create a colorful, creative, and bilingual storybook, which they read to their first grade buddies. The first graders then joined us for the fun and interactive colors tag game of “Color Colorcito” to practice their newly learned Spanish colors vocabulary. Seeing the enthusiasm of the 8th and first graders during this activity, we look forward to planning more future learning experiences together!

It’s almost yearbook time! Secondary digital design students work hard for months to create our Big Pine Unified School District yearbook that includes all students and classes, preschool through 12th grade!

If any preschool or Elementary families would like to order a 2025-2026 yearbook please see the order form that was sent home with your student.

We also have a stock of your books from previous years available for purchase. There is a place on the order form to provide the school year of the book you would like to purchase.

Return the yearbook order form with cash or check to the front office by May 27.

Yearbooks will be handed out the last week of school- with time to get signatures!

Mr. Steele’s Secondary and 4th grade Blue Crews capped off a weeks long training session of the martial art, Escrima, with a demonstration yesterday. 4th graders picked a focus skill and demonstrated it to the group with their big buddy partner. Afterwords, they used a rubric to self assess their grit, courage, and mastery of the skill. They also offered feedback to their big buddy! Great job Blue Crew!
