Have any weekend plans yet? Bobby, Milo, and Taquito invite you to come on down this Saturday, August 22nd, for another fee-waived adoption event at the shelter! While ICARE of the Eastern Sierra helps keep our adoption fees low every day of the year, Saturday's fee-waived adoptions will be an extra good deal! We have big dogs, little dogs, adult cats, and a small army of kittens, even a rabbit- all looking for their forever home!

Open 10 am to 4 pm

Mark you calendars for tomorrow! Saturday, August 8th will be a fee-waived adoption event for the Inyo County shelter animals! While ICARE of the Eastern Sierra works year-round to cover a portion of every adoption fee to keep the cost to adopters low every day, we are offering no-cost adoptions on this day as part of an ASPCA Rescue Effect Campaign grant we received this summer.

Our critters will be available for meet and greets at two locations on Saturday the 8th. Our cats, kittens, and some of our dogs will be waiting to meet you at the usual shelter location on County Road in Big Pine, while a handful of our dogs will be pairing up with volunteers to go on a field trip to Browns Campground in Bishop between 10am and 12pm.

Due to a scheduled power outage tomorrow, the Inyo County Animal Shelter will be closed to the public tomorrow. We're going to focus our attention on keeping the animals cool and comfortable. We will be back open on Wednesday as usual.

Happy Friday! It has no doubt been a hot and busy time for everyone this week, but we wanted to take a moment to give a huge shout out of thanks for the support our shelter enjoys from this community.

On Friday, July 24th last week, we completely evacuated the entire Big Pine shelter to stay ahead of the fire threat. Evacuation is no joke, especially with a full house. Our Animal Control Officers dropped everything to respond and we had all critters packed up, loaded on four trucks and a trailer, and headed for safety in under half an hour.

A HUGE thank you to Bishop Veterinary Hospital and Eastern Sierra Tri-County Fairgrounds for hosting our critters for a couple days beginning immediately that night. Dr Milici stayed late to help us get everyone settled into their new environment as we took over most of the clinic's kennels. Mono County Animal Services - 2.0 deserves another huge thank you for taking in some of our furry residents for a few days after the full evacuation, as well as a truckload of animals a few days prior for a brief partial evacuation when we weren't quite sure what to expect from the fires.

And thanks as always to all fire and first responders for working to protect our community!

We are humbled by the support and deeply appreciative to everyone who took on more work without a second thought to help keep our Inyo shelter pets safe and comfortable!

All critters are back at the shelter now and awaiting adoption! ❤️

UPDATE: *Owner located!*

Who is missing their goat? He's too friendly to get a better picture at the moment, but somebody must have noticed him missing by now. He took himself for a walkabout and landed here with us. Please give us a call if this is your guy. 760-938-2715

Kitten season is BOOMING! Come down to check these guys out and adopt!

As much as we all love these adorable little faces, we're getting hit hard this spring and summer with TONS of litters from unspayed pets. Please reach out for resources to assist with spay/neuter if your pet is currently unaltered.

It's best if possible to come visit and see for yourself, but please give us a call with any questions. 760-938-2715
