Did you receive your annual postcard of events in the mail? Note that the first event listed is the picnic this coming Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the north pavilion at Northend Park in Big Rapids. Bring your own table service and a dish to pass. The Emeriti Board of Directors will provide bottled water and broasted chicken from Crankers. See you there, rain or shine!

The annual FSU Emeriti Association Summer Picnic will be held on Wednesday, August 12, at the Northend Park pavilion in Big Rapids beginning at 11:30 a.m. The FSUEA Board will be providing the chicken from Crankers. Please bring a dish to pass and your own table service. See you there!

Things are in bloom at Helen’s Garden. Volunteers have been keeping it watered to beat the heatwave.

The rose garden at Helen’s Garden suffered the loss of three rose bushes due to the harsh winter. Fortunately, we were able to replace the rose bushes with funds raised through One Day For Dogs! We were also able to purchase flowers and greenery for our newly added planter in the center of the garden, along with other botanical delights to enhance the aesthetics of the garden. Be sure to stop in and browse.

Gardening season at Helen’s Garden officially began last week with cleanup and planting of the graduation geraniums. Stay tuned for more updates on the garden progress.
